Kyro Care Physicals
BasicMed lets many private pilots fly without holding a traditional FAA medical certificate. We complete the required physical exam using the FAA’s Comprehensive Medical Examination Checklist (CMEC), valid for 4 years.
If you’ve held a regular FAA medical certificate at any point since July 2006, you likely qualify — we’ll walk you through the requirements at your visit.
Private pilots flying under BasicMed rules, in aircraft up to 6 seats and 6,000 lbs, with no more than 5 passengers.
Your driver’s license, your most recent FAA medical certificate if you have one, and a list of current medications.
Most exams take about 25 minutes, with your signed CMEC ready before you leave.
A straightforward, three-part visit — most pilots are done in about 25 minutes.
We go through the FAA’s Comprehensive Medical Examination Checklist together, covering your health history question by question.
Vitals, vision, hearing, and a neurological check, following the CMEC requirements.
Your completed CMEC is signed and handed to you to keep with your pilot logbook — no FAA submission required.
Yes — BasicMed requires both the physical exam and a free online medical education course, completed every 2 years through an FAA-approved provider like AOPA or the Mayo Clinic.
Generally yes if you hold a valid U.S. driver’s license and have held a regular FAA medical certificate at some point after July 14, 2006. We can help confirm your eligibility at your visit.
Aircraft authorized to carry up to 6 occupants and weighing up to 6,000 pounds, flying under 250 knots and below 18,000 feet, with no more than 5 passengers on board.
BasicMed exams are completed by any state-licensed physician rather than an FAA Aviation Medical Examiner, and your results stay in your own logbook rather than being submitted to the FAA.
BasicMed generally isn’t available to you in that case — you’d need to obtain a traditional FAA medical certificate first. Ask us and we can help point you in the right direction.
No. Unlike a traditional medical certificate, your BasicMed exam stays in your own personal and aircraft logbook, not with the FAA.
Call 386-400-3620 or book online — most exams are completed the same day.
